Nearly two weeks had passed since the Eagles' win over Lehigh, but the Christmas holiday shifted the tides around college basketball and dimmed the momentum generated from the 9-2 non-conference record. That the one-off win over the Mountain Hawks followed an additional 11-day break from the win over St. John's only served to further remove the overall spotlight associated with college basketball's hard-charging rhythm.
The game was the second of the ACC's overall regular season, but the opportunity of facing Wake Forest - arguably one of the hottest teams in the country - quickly turned into a rebooted start to the 2024 portion of BC's overall season.
